Evil Itself

Tonight Vice President Al Gore looked right into your eyes and lied to you over and over again.  He lied about fictitious Republican intimidation. He lied about ballots that he claims were never counted.  He lied about Republican obstruction of vote counts.  Everything he said was a lie, including “if” and “then.”

The United States quickly recovered from Nixon’s activities, in large part, because Nixon’s successor was an honorable, honest man.  So was Ford’s successor.  Clinton’s lies and crimes surpassed Nixon’s by a long shot.  Clinton sold secrets to China for campaign donations, molested a government employee in the Oval Office, committed perjury, and repeatedly lied to the American people about each of these.  Clinton’s administration lost nuclear secrets, eroded countless personal freedoms, denied the people of access to millions of acres of national forests, stole private property under the guise of rabid environmentalism.  Clinton demoralized and nearly disarmed the Armed Forces.  He drove thousands of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines out of careers in the military and into the private sector disillusioned.  Clinton did all but destroy this country.

Because of the breadth and depth of Clinton’s crimes against the Constitution, against the office of the president, against freedom, against the rule of law, and against God and man alike, his successor must be even more honest and honorable than Ford or Carter.  He must be a man of indisputable trustworthiness.  He must be a stand-up guy who does not use his daddy’s influence to avoid the consequences of his acts.

Al Gore is a cheap imitation of Clinton.  Where Clinton lied to cover his crimes, Gore lies to make himself bigger.   Where Clinton was charming, Gore is boorish. Where Clinton was glib, Gore is smarmy.  Where Clinton was disappointing, Gore is maddening.  Where Clinton was a man of low morals, Gore is a boy of low character.  Where Clinton sought to maximize is popularity, Gore seeks to maximize his power.  Where Clinton surrendered principle for likeability, Gore will trade likeability for control.  Where Clinton craved acceptance, Gore craves authority.

Should Al Gore manage to steal the Presidency, the time to heal Ford gave America will turn into a time of unmitigated warfare that will end dozens of careers and probably a few lives.  Gore’s unquenchable craving for power with which to rule over the minutest details of everyday life in America will be countered by pure obstructionism in Congress.  Federal judiciary openings will remain open as long as Democrats do not control the Senate.  Many cabinet posts may, too, be left vacant as the Republican Senate dutifully thwarts Gore’ totalitarian accumulation of power.  All legislations—Social Security reform, Medicare reform, prescription drug benefits for the elderly, even budgets—will gather dust for two or four years.

In retaliation, Gore will use the Department of Justice, the IRS, and the Treasury to harass and intimidate Congressmen, corporations, and citizens alike.  He will prosecute his political enemies.  And make no mistake:  Gore has no opponents, only enemies.  Gore’s world is world of war and hate.  His campaign team’s lexicon was  Kevorkianesque in its fascination with murder and mayhem.  (Gore’s version of Clinton’s War Room is called “The Slaughter House.”)  Clinton frustrated his opponents.   Gore will seek to destroy his enemies.

Tonight for five minutes, we looked into the eyes of evil itself.  It is called Al Gore, and it wants to rule America.
