Economic Warfare

The Democrats want war; let’s give them war.  Here’s my plan.

To begin, I believe we must take the long view of the present and recent past.  Conservatives have been out of the White House since January 1989, but we have just about ruled the country for the past six years.  When Congress cannot pass new laws, the people win.  The only thing better than a Congress that cannot act would be regulatory agencies that cannot regulate.  So we must accept that things have not been all that bad.

Next, we must take the long view into the future.  Since the Democrats are so eager for a real fight, we should now make it our goal to seek the complete and permanent destruction of the Democrat party.  Extreme?  Who cares?  Hiring a career election criminal like Bill Daley to steal the Presidency is extremism at its ugliest.  Conservatives should take the war one step further.

The Democrat apperachuks in Florida will, in fact, eek out enough contrived votes for Gore to give him White House.  At that point, Bush should address the nation with his concession speech.  He should not personally concede to Gore.  Here is a suggested concession speech.

Bush:    Good Evening.  Almost two years ago, I began a campaign for President of the United States.  As you know, one of my primary goals in seeking that high office was to restore civility to the country, as I have done as governor of Texas.  Throughout the campaign, however, I was reminded and, in turn, reminded Americans, that Vice President Gore, Joseph Lieberman, Bill Clinton, and the entire Clinton-Gore administration would do anything and say anything to get elected.

Bush:    You see, to Clinton and Gore, America—its lands, its people, its financial structures, its businesses and industries, and every penny it produces—is the rightful property of the federal government, just like it was in the Soviet Union and still is in Communist Cuba and North Korea.  These totalitarian beliefs, you must control power or you have none.  In Gore’s mind, the people have no power or rights.  He, therefore, cannot fathom the idea of becoming one of them.  So he has stolen this election by having Democrat hacks “intuit” the intention of the voters in heavily Democrat counties in Florida.  These partisans made sure that they “intuited” enough votes to give my opponent the majority in that state.

Bush:    For the good of the country, I will not lower myself, my party, or my country to Al Gore’s criminal depths.  Instead, to prevent what could become a civil war, I will withdraw from this race for the White House.  I ask all Republicans to drop any lawsuits regarding this campaign.  I hope my opponent enjoys his ill-gotten gain.  God bless the Republican Party, and God bless America.

The economy is ready for a retreat.  In order to destroy the Democrat party, Republicans should begin moving their assets into safe investments, like gold, guaranteed savings accounts, and certificates of deposit.  Let’s reduce Republican and conservative investment portfolios to no more than 10%  stocks and bonds.  Keeps lots in cash.  While our investments might barely maintain their value against inflation for a few years, we will certainly not lose money during the Al Gore inspired economic downturn.  And should our actions cause that downturn, all the better.

Further, Republican businessmen should become very careful about taking on new employees for the next four years.  Because investment capital available through sales of stocks and bonds will be virtually nonexistent for four years, responsible businesses will want to reign in the purse strings.  Let the Democrats figure out what to do with the left over workers.  They’re good at that.

All the while, as the economy grinds to a halt and moves into an all out retreat, Governor Bush, Trent Lott, and the GOP Leadership must keep reminding the people that these problems were caused by a Democrat president and loss of control of Congress by the GOP.  The Senate can easily put off confirmation of any new federal judges, including Supreme Court justices, throughout this period.
