How “Healthy” Diets Kill You and Your Family

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Do you follow the recommended diets? Low fat. High carbohydrate? Eat lots of fruit?

If so, you’re probably overweight. And your blood tests are probably a mess. Maybe your doctor recommends expensive prescriptions to lower your cholesterol.

A new study finds the problem is not your fault. Your doctor, poorly educated in nutrition, and government recommendations, prompted by industry lobbyists, are designed to keep you fat and sick. And it’s not just US government. Here’s the Guardian’s subheading:

Report accuses UK public health bodies of colluding with food industry and calls for overhaul of dietary guidelines.

And here are the highlights of the report, which closely mirror what I’ve been telling you for months:

  • Urging people to follow low-fat diets and to lower their cholesterol is having “disastrous health consequences”
  • The focus on low-fat diets is failing to address Britain’s obesity crisis while snacking between meals is making people fat.
  • “Eating fat does not make you fat.”
  • saturated fat does not cause heart disease while full-fat dairy, including milk, yogurt, and cheese, can actually protect the heart.
  • Processed foods labeled “low fat”, “lite”, “low cholesterol” or “proven to lower cholesterol” should be avoided at all costs, and people with type 2 diabetes should eat a fat-rich diet rather than one based on carbohydrates.
  • Sugar should be avoided, people should stop counting calories and the idea that exercise could help you “outrun a bad diet” was a myth.
  • “The most natural and nutritious foods available – meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, nuts, seeds, olive, avocados – all contain saturated fat.”
  • “The continued demonization of omnipresent natural fat drives people away from highly nourishing, wholesome and health-promoting foods.”
  • Just as big tobacco companies bought the “loyalty of scientists” when a link was made between smoking and lung cancer, the influence of the food industry represents a “significant threat to public health”

Don’t believe anything about diet from the major health organizations or the government. Their recommendations are funded by the food pharma lobbies. Instead, listen to the doctors who’ve actually reduced obesity and diseases. Here are my recommended websites:

You don’t have to believe what the government tells you about food and nutrition. You can follow the diet humans followed for our first 249,000 years.

Government Diet Makes You Fat and Kills You

Reading Time: 2 minutes

If you’re sick and fat, it might not be your fault. You listen to your doctor. You follow government diet guidelines. You eat more fresh fruit and vegetables. You cut down on animal fat. You eat more grains.

And you just get sicker and fatter.

You’re told it’s your fault. But it’s probably not.

You might be a good mom or dad who wants your kids to learn healthy eating habits.

You might be a little overweight and want to trim down.

You might be a bit older and hope to stave off illness so you can watch your grandchildren grow.

If you’re one of these, or anyone else, you probably trust your government to recommend the healthiest diet. But a new report by your government admits just how deadly its food guideline is. The diets pushed by most doctors, dieticians, and the US government promote obesity and disease while starving your body and brain of the fuel they need to function well over a long life.

Nina Teicholz of DietDoctor.com discusses a new US government report on Americans’ adoption of government diet guidelines and the effect on health and obesity. She summarizes the data as:

This report confirms what the last one found: In nearly every way possible, Americans have followed official dietary advice during the last few decades. In the same time period we’ve had massive epidemics of obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Here’s a chart of obesity rates over the same period we’ve been eating more of what the government tells us to eat:

Source: CDC https://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/statistics/prev/national/figpersons.htm

You’ll notice the upward trend in obesity really takes off in the late 90s—just when the government started cracking down on obesity and changing dietary guidelines. It’s as if the government wants you to get fat and die young.

Along with obesity and type 2 diabetes, we’ve also created epidemics of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Hennessy’s View reported previously on the associations between the official dietary advice and these horrible diseases.

Luckily, you have choices. If you’re tired of following official recommendations only to see your waist grow, your LDL cholesterol rise and your life expectancy shrink, you should learn about ketogenic diets.

Your government is lying to you, doctors are repeating their lies, and you and your family are paying the price in disease, discomfort, and obesity.

Why Are You Letting Your Doctor Kill You?

Reading Time: 4 minutes

If you’re overweight, have high cholesterol, diabetes, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, heart disease, or cancer, it’s probably not your fault. You’ve been told to eat poison your whole life, by people who are supposed to know better. Here’s some truth to set you free.

Actually, I don’t know why. But it’s happening to you and millions of other people. Doctors are killing their patients. And they’re getting a lot of help from the government and big agriculture. Plus the advertising industry.

The more you research diet and nutrition, the more you realize grains and sugar are deadly. In fact, eliminating grains and sugars from your diet could lead to all these wonderful, happy outcomes:

  • Pretty face and skin that people want to stare at
  • Cover-model body that people drool over
  • Lower risk of cancer
  • Little fear of Alzheimer’s
  • Unlikely problems with Parkinson’s
  • Near zero chance of diabetes
  • No chance of obesity
  • Little risk of epileptic seizures
  • Reduced risk of heart disease
  • Resilience in case of food shortages

Now, those intrusive registered dieticians and your family doctor will tell you this is all poppycock. And yet their waiting rooms are full of sick people who follow their directions that lead to disease and obesity. Maybe those “experts” are ill-informed. Maybe they’re worried that too many healthy people will put them out of business. Maybe they’re influenced by big drug companies, health insurance companies, hospital chains, and food industry lobbyists.

As Derek Sivers wrote in the best business book I ever read:

But even well-meaning companies accidentally get trapped in survival mode. A business is started to solve a problem. But if the problem was truly solved, that business would no longer be needed! So the business accidentally or unconsciously keeps the problem around so that they can keep solving it for a fee. (I don’t want to pick on anyone’s favorite pharmaceutical company or online productivity subscription tools, so let’s just say that any business that’s in business to sell you a cure is motivated not to focus on prevention.)

Sivers, Derek (2011-06-29). Anything You Want (pp. 31-32). AmazonEncore. Kindle Edition.

But whether it’s ignorance or malice, the people who are supposed to make healthy have a business model that first requires you to get sick. And it doesn’t have to be that way.

Even the US National Institutes of Health recognizes that the high fat, low carbohydrate is effective for everything I listed above. And maybe even more. Not only that, the high fat, low carbohydrate diet is safe for the long haul. Also known as the ketogenic diet, the tasty habit of eating everything that’s low in carbohydrates has been recognized for 80 years as preventive for epileptic seizures. But for decades doctors told patients to avoid the diet because they thought it would cause heart disease. They were wrong, and they still are.

According to the National Institutes of Health, you can and should eat a ketogenic diet. Here’s their conclusion:

The present study shows the beneficial effects of a long-term ketogenic diet. It significantly reduced the body weight and body mass index of the patients. Furthermore, it decreased the level of triglycerides, LDL cholesterol and blood glucose, and increased the level of HDL cholesterol. Administering a ketogenic diet for a relatively longer period of time did not produce any significant side effects in the patients. Therefore, the present study confirms that it is safe to use a ketogenic diet for a longer period of time than previously demonstrated.

And this was from a 2004 study. Moreover, this study isn’t alone. As the authors point out:

It is generally believed that high fat diets may lead to the development of obesity and several other diseases such as coronary artery disease, diabetes and cancer. This view, however, is based on studies carried out in animals that were given a high fat diet rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. In contrast, our laboratory has recently shown that a ketogenic diet modified the risk factors for heart disease in obese patients (12).

But what about Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s? Scientists have known for years that ketones in the blood strengthen your brain. Recent studies show that people with type II diabetes, usually caused by eating too many carbohydrates, almost DOUBLES your chances of getting Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease.

I know your doctor and the government and dieticians bombard you with bad science. I know that society will ostracize you for eating a diet that’s actually good for you instead of the one advertisers tell you is good for you. But part of our philosophy involves personal responsibility, and personal responsibility includes health. I realize that if everyone adopted a ketogenic diet, many big companies would be in trouble. All the companies that make breakfast cereal, bread by the warehouse, sugary drinks, and all those falsely labeled “healthy” low-fat snacks–they’ll all be out of business. And so many cardiologists, personal trainers, dieticians, endocrinologists, and pharmaceutical companies will suffer. So will health insurance companies who make their millions by processing paperwork for sick people. Not to mention big hospital chains. Even Walmart will suffer when nobody shops in their 99 aisles of sugary, grain-packed poison. Kellogg’s will be as sick as Sears.

The trade-off is obvious: we can all be fat, unhappy, and sick, or those people feeding us poison and its ineffective antidotes can find something more productive and useful to do.

Michelle Obama’s Dictates Force Eureka High PTO To Beg

Reading Time: 2 minutes

When did first ladies become dictators?

Seriously. The president’s family has no more authority than anyone else. The reason people show contempt for activist spouses of presidents is the same reason history hates Marie Antoinette.

I know, the all-Democrat Congress passed the school nutrition law in 2010, but Michelle Obama wrote it.

Michelle Obama has dictated that no tasty foods may enter any school property. That ban includes school bake sales and snack shops which has PTOs scrambling to replace lost income.

According to the Wall Street Journal:

The law also required the U.S. Department of Agriculture to set standards for all food and beverages sold during the school day, which includes vending machines, snack carts and daytime fundraisers.

That law could cost the Eureka High School PTO half its annual profits according an email to parents sent last week:

These guidelines directly affect most of the items that we sell in our School Store and we are no longer able to offer them to our student customers.  In the past, our school store has made profits totaling almost $20,000 each year.  This has allowed us to support many programs at the school without having to fundraise.  We anticipate that these new guidelines will reduce our profit from the store by more than $10,000.

Those “profits” pay for numerous programs and events for students. So the PTO is asking for parents to make up the difference.

We know that you are asked to fundraise [sic] for the many activities your child participates in so we will not be asking EHS students to fundraise [sic] individually to benefit the PTO.  But we are asking your assistance to help us make up the deficit we are now facing. Please consider purchasing Spirit Wear this fall or ordering a Balloon Bouquet this school year.

Now, I’ll be the first to admit that Americans are too fat. We’re also too lazy, too slow, and too afraid of walking a block. Missouri is particularly obese—so much so that people around the country laugh about it.

On a business trip to California, recently, a waitress paid me the backhanded compliment of, “you’re to thin to be from St. Louis.” Word gets around.

And schools don’t need to be shoveling Suzy Qs and Mountain Dew at kids all day.

It’s the school’s job, though, and not the federal government’s, to cut down the carbs available on campus. Twenty years ago, administrators found he money addictive when Pepsi distributors flooded their schools with vending machines. Plus, federal funding allows school cafeterias to serve enormous portions of pizza and burgers at low cost to the students. And elimination of recess, because kids might get hurt, took away the kids’ chance to burn calories and to just be kids.

The answer to obese kids isn’t a federal nanny state. The answer is to get the federal government out of education and for parents to shut down the video games for a couple of hours a day.
