If you work for a corporation, you’ve undoubtedly heard about the virtues of efficiency. And, if you’re living in America, you’ve probably noticed shortages of stables like meat, packaged food, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and more. What you probably don’t realize is that business’s pathological concerns for efficiency caused the shortages. And, what’s worse, most of the “expert” recommendations for dealing with pandemics will put us all at risk for precisely the same reason.

It’s no surprise, then, that his TED Talk on leadership could be the greatest definition of leadership I’ve ever heard. Please watch and share. I have some thoughts and a poll following. The motivating force behind the first tea party protests of February 27, 2009, was , in part, crony capitalism. Across the country and on the steps of the Arch in St. Louis, signs and speakers denounced bailouts for failed businesses. Rasmussen found that 68 percent of Americans believe Big Business and Big Government work together against the rest of us. I think they’re right. Since then, crony capitalism has only grown.
